The Commission

The Town of Seymour Connecticut has a vast 160 year old classic New England small town charm and historic background dating to that of the United States of America's Industrial Revolution of the 19th century. Today, in modern times, Seymour is a lovely place to plant your familial roots, raise a family and reside. Nestled between major cities like New York to the south by 90 minutes, Boston to the North by 2 1/2 hours, just a little over 1 hour to Casino Resorts like Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods or 20 minutes to historic downtown New Haven or prestigious Yale University, Seymour is continuing to evolve into the 21st century yet maintain a historic charm.

Our downtown has become revitalized once again and one can stroll around the Antique District, visit a historic movie theater, shop, dine and visit one of the largest waterfalls in the state of Connecticut. Additional concepts are underway for several more downtown parcels to be rehabilitated for commerical and retail development affording Seymourites and others additional modern conveniences. Seymour enjoys the scenic beauty of the four-seasons nestled in the mountains of the lower Naugatuck Valley corridor from spring flowers to fall foliage colors to winter snowfall.

Seymour is comprised of 5 schools, 6 state highways, 2 rivers, a train station and public transportation and is an affordable place to reside and an even greater place to start or open a business - so come join us!

Respectfully,

Jon David Szuch
